Komiza - Island Vis, Croatia
Komiža - is situated in a deep gulf on the island of Vis, at the foot of Hum. Its rich and long history has left numerous cultural monuments such as St Nicolas` monastery from the 18th century, secession buildings, churches from the 17th and the 18th century and the unavoidable Fishing Museum. Komiža is situated at the source of unique natural beauties but its biggest tourist attractions are Modra špilja (the Blue Cave) on the island of Biševo and the volcanic island of Jabuka (Apple). The combination of sea and mountains offers various possibilities for different sport activities such as; mountaineering, water sports and horse-back riding, and sports within the recreational centres. Gastronomic offer of Komiža is really special but its most famous specialities are traditional shrimp and white fish dishes.
