Gradac - Makarska riviera, Croatia
Gradac - is a town, port situated close to the highway on Makarska Riviera. The town has rich culture and history which date from the Roman times which is proven by numerous remains of Roman buildings. Gradac got its name after two fortresses built at the end of the 17th century for defence against the Turks. The landscape is covered in pine woods and olive groves whose green colours merge with the blue colour of the crystal clear sea. It`s an attractive summer resort for its long gravel beaches. Recreational offer is various, and cultural and entertaining events are mostly connected to the traditional, summer cultural and artistic programmes. The vicinity of Ploče, Brist and Makarska offers possibilities for interesting excursions.
